Mera Peak Climbing (22 Days)

Mera Peak ClimbingMera peak trekking is the fabulous trekking in the remote and high altitude. We carry out this trek in the altitude of 6476m. You can observe the stunning summit views with Mt. Everest standing in front of you along with other six highest peaks in the world. Mera peak climbing is most popular for stunning views, high altitude and wilderness camp.

Climbing Mera Peak begins with the splendid mountain flight to Phaplu and we meet our supporting crew members there. And the Mera peak starts from Phaplu. We follow the footsteps of the previous trekking with slightly variation. We commence our trekking from Solu region which is quite calm and soothing. You should cross the Trakshindo La before walking down towards the Dudhkoshi River. We trek along this river and follow north through terraced hill sides and small village.

We walk south towards Surkhe, passing over the Pangkongma La. As we ascend into the Hinku valley, we notice the first view of the mountains. Here we walk along the spectacular route Hinku Khola. Then we climb down to the Rhododendrons forest up to the valley floor. Before ascending Mera base camp at Khare, we stay at Tangnang for a couple of days for acclimatization. Then we will catch a route from Mera glacier to the summit. We put on our crampons there and then gradually ascend the glacier. We experience two more high camps before our summit day.

Though the ascent doesn’t involve more technicalities from a short pitch unto the summit dome, we still use a rope to avoid crevasses. This is a quite a long day. The unparallel view from the summit makes your effort more worthy. We come back to Lulka over the Zatra La. You will come to notice stunning view of the south face of the Mera peak while returning. You can’t stop appreciating yourself for this achievement.

Client Testimonials

Namadste!
While doing trek in the khumbu region, we will witness the different views of mountains such as Kwangde, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, the "horse saddle" of Kanteiga and of course the summit of Everest itself. We take a short rest for a while and it allows us little time for acclimatization. Here, you prepare yourself to explore the ascent of kalapatthar which is an altitude of 5545m. While climbing down from Lobuche, you will see some glacial moraine until the peak comes into view. Finally, you will be witnessing the north face of Mt. Everest . We return through a different route through Panboche to Lukla. We catch a flight for Kathmandu from Lukla.
