Peak Climbing in Nepal

There are around 18 minor peaks open for Alpine climbing in Nepal and this is quite fascinating for adventurous traveler. Climbers have to abide by certain rules set by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) in order to climb these minor peaks. You can obtain detail information regarding climbing permission and others from the Association through the Annapurna Foothills Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. We have got the affiliation with NMA. For your convenience, it is informed that you have to have a snow and ice climbing experience in climbing these minor peaks.

To obtain permission, you should apply through the trekking agency. You need to have a climbing guide. Otherwise, the permission is not issued. Trekking agencies do provide trained and qualified guides for climber convenience, safety and success. These peaks said to be minor according to the Himalayan standard. However, falling snow and ice during climbing may invite challenge, particularly in winter.

As most people wish to climb Himalayan peaks every year, we do assist climbers I every way we could. It is not compulsory to have a previous climbing experience. However, you need to be prepared both mentally and physically for taking calculated risk in the expedition. We provide satisfying service to our patrons. Imja Tse peak with the height of 6160m is more popularly known by name of Island peak. The peak was named Island peak by Eric Shipton’s party in 1953, as the peak resembles an Island in a sea of ice when viewed from Dingboche Later in 1983, the peak was renamed as Imja Tse.

The peak is a part of the south ridge of Lhotse shar and the main hand forms a Semicircle of clifts that rise to the north of the summits of Nuptse, Lhotse, middle peak and Lhotse Shar. Cho Polu and Makalu lie to the east of the Island peak Baruntse Amphu and Ama Dablam liew to the south.

Mera Peak (6654m) is the highest permitted trekking) peak of Nepal. It is to the south Everest and dominates the watershed between the heavily wooded valleys of the Hinku and Hongu Dragkas.

Before climbing down the Kali Gandaki valley to Pokhara, the trail ascends towards the Marsyangdi valley crossing the Thorong La. A peak which is situated the due south of the Tashi Lapche is still unnamed in the Schneider Rolwaling himal map. It is in the altitude of 6273 meters.

This mountain looks very attractive from the pass. However, the North West ridge of the mountain is quite flat, crevassed glacier on the both sides of Tashi Lapche. The west ridge face of the peak is uniform with snow formed in the shape of slope.
